Attention-Deficit Hyperactive Disorder (ADHD) Testing

ADHD affects approximately 9.4% of the U.S. population, making accurate assessment crucial for proper diagnosis and treatment. Our ADHD assessments involve a series of neuropsychological tests that help determine if the symptoms you're experiencing are related to ADHD. Once diagnosed, individuals can pursue appropriate accommodations and treatment options, including educational support and medication.

During an ADHD assessment, you or your loved one will be given a series of neuropsychological tests to determine if the symptoms you’re experiencing are indicative of an ADHD diagnosis.

Autism Evaluations

With growing awareness of autism and neurodiversity, more individuals are seeking autism evaluations. We offer comprehensive autism assessments tailored to meet the unique needs of each person. Our autism testing process is thorough, covering ages 3 to young adulthood and re-evaluations for all ages. Proper diagnosis enables early intervention, support, and accommodations that allow neurodivergent individuals to thrive.

Twice Exceptional (2E) Evaluations

Twice-exceptional individuals, or 2E, exhibit both giftedness and a learning disability. Proper assessment is crucial to ensuring their educational needs are fully met. We evaluate students to provide comprehensive educational plans that address both their academic strengths and challenges, ensuring access to enrichment opportunities and appropriate academic support.

Learning Disorders

Psychological testing is key in diagnosing learning disabilities such as dyslexia, apraxia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and auditory or language processing disorders. Our thorough evaluations identify strengths and weaknesses, helping professionals create personalized plans for academic success.

Psychological Evaluations for Mental Health Concerns

If you've ever wondered why you or your child behaves a certain way or are seeking a diagnosis to support treatment, psychological testing can provide answers. We assess a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, mood disorders, personality disorders, and more, creating a tailored plan for ongoing care.

School Admissions Testing

For children aged 2 and up, we offer readiness and ability testing to meet school enrollment criteria. Common tests include the Kaufman Brief Intelligence Test (KBIT-2), WISC-V, and WPPSI-IV. Please note that school admission testing is private pay only.

What to Expect During Psychological Testing at Monarch Behavioral Health

The first step in the psychological testing process is an initial intake appointment. During this session, your clinician will gather background information, discuss your history, and identify your goals for testing. On the day of testing, you or your child will participate in several hours of face-to-face activities specifically tailored to address your unique concerns. Monarch Behavioral Health takes a collaborative approach by working with educators, physicians, and other members of your care team to ensure that your evaluation is comprehensive. After testing is complete, we will meet with you for a feedback session to review the results and offer recommendations, which may include therapy, educational accommodations, or other forms of support.

  • Every appointment requires a valid credit card on file. A charge of $130 will apply if a testing appointment is canceled within 48 hours.

  • While we strive to provide an estimate of charges before scheduling your appointment, it is important to understand your insurance benefits. Occasionally, we receive inaccurate information from insurance providers, and it is your responsibility to clarify any discrepancies.

  • Depending on the assessment type, the testing appointment may take between three and eight hours, or in some cases, may require an additional day of testing.

The first meeting with your clinician is designed to gather all necessary background information and fully understand the reasons you are seeking an evaluation.

After the intake appointment, your clinician will:

  • Assess the information shared during the session and create a battery of psychological tests specifically designed to address your referral question. This test battery will then be reviewed with the clinical supervisor.

  • If applicable, Monarch will obtain prior authorization from your insurance before proceeding.

After the evaluation appointment, your clinician will:

  • Score, record, and interpret the test results. They will then draft a preliminary report that includes any diagnoses and treatment recommendations.

  • Once all services have been paid in full by you and/or your insurance, the clinician will finalize the report, and a feedback session will be scheduled to review the findings.

During the feedback session, your clinician will explain the testing results, discuss any diagnoses made, and recommend appropriate next steps. You will be provided with a copy of the full report, as well as a summary of the results, accessible via the client portal.

If you would like your report shared with any collateral providers, such as a school, therapist, psychiatrist, or primary care physician, you must complete a Release of Information form for each provider. Alternatively, you may distribute the report yourself without the need for this release, which we encourage.

Next comes the testing day. From time to time, there is more than one testing day; the testing day(s) usually consist of several hours of face-to-face activities. Please note that the actual tests performed vary depending on the issues occurring.

We’re happy to collaborate with other professionals during the testing process.

We are happy to consult with other members of your care team including educators, school counselors, other psychologists, psychiatrists, and physicians.

Lastly, we meet with you and/or your family for a feedback session. This is when we review our findings and make recommendations for your next steps. For example, this may include psychological or psychiatric treatment and/or educational accommodations.  Should you wish, our team of mental health professionals is available to work with you, your family, and/or your child during counseling. Our clinical team offers a variety of therapy services designed to meet your needs. We have therapists who specialize in working with adults, children, and families.

Things to Remember on Your Psychological Testing Day

Please Note:

Monarch Behavioral Health cannot guarantee specific outcomes from your evaluation. Our reports are grounded in doctoral-level training, relevant research, and a thorough review of the data collected during your assessment.

  • If the results do not align with your desired outcome, you are still responsible for all charges incurred. Our clinicians will not alter assessment results due to dissatisfaction.

  • If your insurance changes during the assessment process, notify us immediately. If we are out of network with your new insurance, or if payment is not secured, you will be responsible for any remaining balance.

  • If you begin testing and choose not to complete it, we cannot bill your insurance. In this case, you will be charged an hourly rate based on our fee schedule for the work that has been completed.

Other Information:

Please inform your clinician if you decide to undergo psychological or neuropsychological testing at another facility during your assessment with us, including schools or other practices.

  • The assessment tools we use are designed for annual administration. If the same test is taken within one year, the results will be considered invalid, and the assessment will not be included in your report.

  • To ensure valid results, the specific tests to be administered will not be provided until after testing is complete. The full list of assessments can be found in your final report.

  • When your clinician administers an assessment to a parent or teacher, the relevant link will be sent directly to the individual via email. If the assessment is not completed within the two-to-three-week window, the data will not be included in the final report. We may ask for your help in completing the measure.

  • If a collateral interview with another provider is deemed beneficial and you consent to it, your clinician will attempt to make contact within the two-to-three-week window. If the interview cannot be completed in time, it will not be included in the final report.

If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to ask your clinician. We are always happy to help!
